preakness

1 1/2oz Rittenhouse 100
3/4oz sweet vermouth
1/4oz Benedictine
dash Angostura bitters

Garnish with a lemon twist. Recipe: cocktailDB

Ah yes, my sort of drink! Warm and fuzzy and lovely with a hint of a bite from the Rittenhouse.

Tony at Green Street made me this months ago. I've made a few at home.

Similar cocktails are the Manhattan Special (3:1:1+angostura) and the one I recently made which is the Vail (3:1:1 using dry instead of sweet Vermouth and no bitters) using our new Vya Vermouths.

Tim is seriously loving the Vya. Weirdly, I haven't tried it yet. I dunno, I'm cold all the time and want hot tea. :)

The Vya isn't for all cocktails. It overwhelmed my Brooklyn but made for a really good Martini, Vail, and Manhattan cocktails amongst others.
