1/2 oz Maraschino Liqueur (Luxardo)
1/4 oz Grapefruit Juice
Shake with ice and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a sprig of mint.

quality versus quantity does not have to be a winner-take-all proposition.

This I will have to try. I confess the Ethereal I bought at Bauer on Newbury St took me aback: I thought it was too aggressively botanical for mixing, and used it instead for flavorful G&T's (wish I could find more interesting tonic water in the Fenway than Polar). With some left, and being open to Aviation variants, I'll check out this formula and hope for the best.
Have always loved this drink but maybe the proper priority is to juice grapefruits for a 7th Heaven then make salad dressing if there's any leftover.
robm, the Ethereal is their normal Greylock Gin (7 botanicals) with an addition set of 7 botanicals. It's still tame compared to say Citadel but intense compared to Hendrick's.
