1 oz Combier Liqueur d'Orange
1 1/4 oz Green Chartreuse
3/4 oz Lime Juice
Shake with ice and strain into a rocks glass.

quality versus quantity does not have to be a winner-take-all proposition.

Brendan made this for us at no.9 a few weeks ago. ive since made it at home with san luis del rio and enjoyed it even more. ive also gone back to equal parts at home, but maybe thats because i really like mezcal.
I agree that Vida isn't the best of the Del Maguey, but it allows bartenders to make drinks within a decent profit margin. When Drink was making Mezcal cocktails, they had to charge a $5 upcharge until the Vida came out.
Are those proportions right? Between the Combier and Chartreuse, I can't imagine it coming out on the dry side.
Mezcal is rather drying with its astringency and harshness, and green Chartreuse - while it does have a decent sugar content - is not very sweet to me. And lime juice is also drying. So the only really sweet thing is the Combier.
Revisited this today. Continues to be a good break from the norm. Thanks for sharing!
