When Andrea brought home a melon, I recalled that there was a recipe in Clair McLafferty's
The Classic & Craft Cocktail Recipe Book. That melon number was the Indian Summer by Jared Schubert of Louisville, Kentucky, and those flavors rounded out a Bourbon Old Fashioned. In the glass, the Indian Summer offered floral, lemon, melon, and clove aromas. Next, a malt-driven sip led into Bourbon, floral, melon, clove, and allspice flavors on the swallow.
