2 oz Reposado Tequila (Cimarron)
1 oz Oloroso Sherry (Lustau)
1/4 oz Simple Syrup
2 dash Orange Bitters (Regan's)
Stir with ice and strain into a cocktail coupe.
Two Tuesdays ago, I reached for Maggie Hoffman's
Batched Cocktails for a recipe that I could scale down to a single serving. There, I was lured in by the simplicity of Steve Huddleston's Three-Piece Suit that he created that Parcel 32 in Charleston, SC. Once prepared, the tequila offered up vegetal agave aromas and the sherry shared nutty grape ones. Next, a semi-dry grape sip gave way to agave, nutty grape, orange, apricot, and vanilla flavors on the swallow.
