1 1/2 oz Cognac (Pierre Ferrand Ambre)
3/4 oz Cocchi Americano
3/4 oz Lemon Juice
1/2 oz Apricot Liqueur (Rothman & Winter)
Shake with ice, strain into a cocktail glass pre-rinsed with absinthe (Kübler), and garnish with a dried apricot.
Two Wednesdays ago, I ventured into the
Kindred Cocktails database and uncovered the Swann's Way. This Marcel Proust tribute was crafted by New York City bartender Rafa Garcia Febles in 2015 as "a
Hoop La by way of a
Self Starter." Here, the Swann's Way greeted the nose with an apricot and anise aroma. Next, lemon and orchard fruit notes on the sip flowed into Cognac, apricot, and pear flavors on the swallow with an anise finish.
